Switzerland Tourism hosted its first luxury travel trade seminars in Geneva and Zurich. The events welcomed 100 participants and facilitated collaborative discussions in this rapidly growing market. Thank you to all partners for the meaningful contributions in shaping the future of luxury travel.

The events were opened by moderator Alex Blunschi and Switzerland Tourism’s CEO Martin Nydegger, and Pascal Prinz, Director of the Global Luxury Market, who presented the new vision of Swiss Silent Luxury. Luxury travel is growing. Globally, the sector is set to double within the next decade. In Switzerland, just 8% of overnight stays already generate 25% of tourism revenue.

In fact, tourism in Switzerland started with luxury when the Queen of England and the King of Bavaria first visited the Alps in the 19th century. Their journeys set the tone for a long tradition of high-end, meaningful travel.

Keynote speaker Dr. Matthias Fuchs from EHL offered an insightful look at the evolution of luxury, highlighting the rise of experiential luxury and the ‚ten powers‘ that make experiences feel truly exceptional. He highlighted that traditional luxury and luxury hospitality are merging into a new experiential category driven by meaning.

Nathalie Seiler-Hayez, Adrien Genier, Simon Bosshart, and Thomas Wüthrich shared strategic insights on destination positioning, market mix, and seasonality, thereby reinforcing Switzerland’s forward-looking vision of a One Luxury Destination focused on quality, authenticity, and lasting value.

Franco Savastano, Sabine Föhn, and Raphaël Mathon-Goupil provided additional insights into luxury retail, lake cruises, and top-tier hospitality.

In the closing keynote, Mario Wüersch, owner of Bucher Travel, provided ten practical, results-oriented tips for improving luxury travel experiences and managing key accounts.
